Since 2019, the European AI Alliance Assembly is the flagship event bringing together policymakers and stakeholders to contribute to shaping Europe’s policy in the field of AI. This year’s assembly marks another important milestone in the implementation of the European AI Strategy with the AI Act heading towards adoption while the updated Coordinated Plan on AI counting two years of implementation.

A significant part of this assembly will be dedicated to the preparations for the adoption of the world’s first regulatory framework on AI. This will include the launch of upcoming initiatives aiming to strengthen European industry as well as to bring together EU and non-EU players, with the common mission of ensuring early adoption of the AI Act. Dedicated discussions, including engagement with the AI Alliance community to address aspects such as AI regulatory sandboxes and standardization processes, will follow.

Stakeholders and policymakers will be also invited to comment on the general progress made on the EU AI Strategy. This will encompass specific ongoing initiatives like the Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs), the AI EDIHs (Digital Innovation Hubs on AI) and the AI PPPs (Public-Private Partnerships on AI). Additionally, the assembly will provide a platform for latest developments and exciting perspectives surrounding generative AI models, green AI and AI for cybersecurity to be discussed.

Roberta Turra, Head of AI/Data at Cineca, will participate at the talk PLACING EUROPE ON THE MAP OF GENERATIVE AI: Part I – Access to Computing, discussing access to computing resources and how it will significantly reduce the training time for the latest AI models in start-ups, transforming a process that could take months or even years into one that takes just days or weeks.
